VISITOR INFORMATION SHEET
WELCOME TO MILNGAVIE GOLF COURSE
Dear visitor, welcome. We hope that you will enjoy a relaxing and memorable time while at our Club. We are here to make your day as pleasurable as we possibly can. In return, all we ask is that you adhere to our very basic rules & regulations and rules of etiquette while on the golf course.
REPORT TO THE CLUBHOUSE MAIN LOUNGE
BEFORE TEEING OFF. OUR STAFF WILL ATTEND TO ALL YOUR NEEDS
IF THE MAIN LOUNGE IS CLOSED THE FOLLOWING GUIDE WILL ASSIST YOU

- Access to the gents locker room is through the left hand lounge inside the main foyer of the clubhouse. Exit is via the side door in the locker room. The ladies locker area is up the stairs in the main foyer of the clubhouse
- Please ensure that you have paid your green fees and other charges before teeing off. This can be done on your mobile phone through the BRS visitors page at https://visitors.brsgolf.com/milngavie#/course/1
COURSE REGULATIONS
- Report to the clubhouse before teeing off
- Always be ready to tee off at your allotted tee-off time
- Do not take your buggy or trolley on to any teeing areas
- Do not take buggies or trolleys on to putting surfaces
- Be respectful of and to other golfers on the course
- Pace of play: Remember to ‘keep up with the game in front of you, not in front of the game behind you’
- Repair Pitch Marks
- Replace your Divots
- Rake Bunkers
DRESS CODE: NOT PERMITTED
At Milngavie we are dedicated to making our members, guests, and visitors most welcome and to ensure that everyone has a most enjoyable and memorable time while at the Club. This includes a very relaxed on-course dress code. We take account of clothes trends (fashion) and the age range of those playing the course. As a result, only the following items are not permitted whilst playing golf on the course.
1. Football/rugby tops of any description
2. Track-suit wear
3. Non-tailored sports shorts ie: football/rugby style shorts
4. Jeans
EMERGENCY
In the remote event that there is an emergency situation whilst out on the course, there is a defibrillator and a first-aid kit behind the right-hand storm door at the front of the clubhouse. Otherwise contact the clubhouse or Emergency Services as you deem necessary.
Local Rules
- Out of bounds (Rule 27)
- In or over River Allander on right of 1st 8th 9th holes
- Over any boundary wall or fence or beyond any white stake
- In the car park or on or over the road at the 18th hole
- Water Hazards (Including Lateral Water hazards) (Rule 26)
The burn behind the 2nd green designated by red stakes*
*as an additional option to (c), the player may opt to play for the designated dropping zone marked DZ to the right rear of the green
- Immovable Obstructions (Rule 24-2)
- All paths, steps and roadways (other than in 1(c) above)
- The flagpole and the slabbed surround at the 18th hole
- All fixed course furniture such as shelters, sheds, immovable direction posts, seats, warning bells, sprinkler covers/heads, drain covers, passing places, stiles
- The stone bridge at the 1st hole.
- All white road markers
- The ball must be lifted and placed at the nearest point where the ball lay that (a) is not nearer the hole, (b) avoids intervention and (c) is not in a hazard. The ball may be cleaned when lifted.
- Integral Part of the Course (Rule 33.2a)
The internal walls on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th 5th 6th, 13th ,15th, and 17th holes
- Ground Under Repair (Rule 25)
- Any area designated as GUR (Relief must be taken)
- Any area lines with white paint, including winter greens (Relief must be taken)
- Astro turf or other artificial drainage plugs on the putting green
- Through the green, any deep depressions or ruts made by tractors or green-keeping equipment
- Any area within one Club-length of a rock in a closely mown area only
- Plugged Ball (Appendix 1, Part B, 3a)
In any closely mown area through the green, a ball that is embedded in it’s own pitch mark in the ground other than sand, may be lifted without penalty, cleaned and dropped as near as possible to the point where it originally lay but not nearer the hole. The ball when dropped must first strike part of the course through the green.
- General
- There will be no practice on the course, including all tees and greens.
- If a match loses more than one clear hole on the players in front, it must allow the following match to play through. Players should play without delay and if it becomes apparent that a ball will not be easily found, they must signal the players behind to play through. They should not search for 3 minutes before doing so.
- Replace divots, repair pitch marks, rake bunkers
